John Furniss Maxwell

John Furniss Maxwell of Anthem, Arizona passed away on February 10, 2014 at the age of 34.

Furniss was born in Raleigh, NC on 15 April 1979. He was baptized at St Paul’s Church in Selma and grew up in Annapolis, Md. He attended Summit School, Harbor School & Anne Arundel Community College. He earned his Eagle Scout award in 2001, along with 2 Palm Leaves & was inducted into the Order of the Arrow. Most recently he volunteered at the Restore (Habitat for Humanity) and John C Lincoln Hospital. Furniss was an accomplished marksman with the Deer Tribe Gun Club & a member of the Daisy Mountain Rock and Mineral Club. He was an active member in the Fellowship Church in Anthem.

He is survived by his parents, Charles Eugene and Emory Furniss Maxwell and his sister, Christian Maxwell (Jeff) Harris of Roswell, Georgia.

Graveside services will be in Live Oak Cemetery on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Joe Knight officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Furniss’ Boy Scout Troop or to your favorite charity. Donations for the Boy Scout Troop may be sent to 28 Hilltop Lane, Annapolis, MD 21403, to the care of Denise Boebert, made payable to “Troop 91”, and with “Furniss Maxwell” in the memo line.
