Janis Blanton Simpkins, age 78, of Minter, Alabama, passed away February 14, 2014.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Propes Rush and Viola Irene Carroll Curry.

She is survived by her husband, Marcus Skinner Simpkins; daughters, Becky Casey Rives (Andy) and Renee Blanton Callen (Jack) both of Selma, Alabama; brother, R.B. Curry; sisters, Ann Hindman, Linda Jones, Judy Horton; grandchildren, Matthew Casey of Auburn, Alabama, Whitney (Braden) Cook of Birmingham, Alabama, Blanton (Conlee) Callen of Mobile, Alabama, Walton Callen of Birmingham, Alabama; a host of nieces and nephews; and longtime caretakers, Ada Rogers and Hattie Ray.

She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2014 at New Live Oak Cemetery with Dr. Jerry W. Light officiating and Lawrence Brown – Service Funeral Home directing.

Pall Bearers will be Matthew Casey, Blanton Callen, Robert Simpkins, Mike Simpkins, Todd Simpkins, Cliff Hindman, and Steve Hindman.
