Dallas County residents looking to join an Easter egg hunt will have plenty of opportunities to do so this weekend. 

The City of Selma, Orrville and Yeargan Farms are all hosting Easter egg hunts Saturday. Most of the hunts will include small prizes and candy in the eggs, one or more golden eggs with special prizes and an appearance from either the famous Easter bunny or Yeargan’s baby lambs.

“I’m very excited,” Orrville Mayor Louvenia Lumpkin said.

Selma’s first Easter egg hunt is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bloch Park. Hosted by the city and Pettway’s Party Stop, the free event will feature three separate hunts divided by ages one to five, six to 12 and 13 and older. All hunts will be conducted at the same time, but they will be held in separate sections.

Anyone who finds the golden egg will earn a surprise gift.

Attendees will have a chance to exercise with Selma First Lady Jeannie Evans and the Easter bunny as part of Evan’s Let’s Move fitness campaign.

“This will be a great opportunity for kids in the community to have an event here,” Pettway’s Party Shop storeowner Leslie Pettway said.

For the first time since Lumpkin has been in office, Orrville is going to host an Easter egg hunt. Held at the Orrville Community Center from noon to 1:30 p.m., the free hunt will include five golden eggs with cash inside.

The Easter bunny will be available to take pictures with the children.

There will also be a vendor at the hunt for those interested in purchasing items.

“It’s just a lot of fun,” Lumpkin said.

Yeargan Farms is hosting an Easter Celebration with Elkdale Baptist Church from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. with an opportunity to take a picture with Yeargan’s baby lambs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
