Tonight at three locations viewers will have another opportunity to view and support local artists.
The Selma Art Guild, the Frame Shoppe and Selma City Hall will all participate in the second Broad Street Art Walk.
The walk, local artist and guild member Sally Jordan said, will offer a diverse list of media.
“They all offer a different element of certain types of art,” she said. “This one is going to have a lot more smaller, original works.”
Jordan said an estimated 60 works from different local artists would be on display, which includes paintings, sculptures, wearable art and pottery.
Among the unique displays are handcrafted pottery, jewelry, baskets, musical instruments and textiles from Ugandan children as seen during Ten Thousand Villages. Profits from these crafts help the Ugandans improve their housing; send their children to school and dream of a brighter future.
Jordan said the event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. and admission is free.
“It’s a good opportunity for people to view local talent and make purchases,” she said. “And everything is right on Broad Street. The hours will give people an opportunity to drop by after work, view the art and have some good food.”
Food will be served at each location.
