Selma Police investigator Lt. Curtis Muhannad said Lavonte Cardell Conn was picked up by members of the Selma Police Department early Tuesday morning at the Milwaukee County Jail and brought to the Dallas County Jail later that same day.

Members of the U.S. Marshal’s Service arrested Conn on June 2.

“He had been at the extradition hearing, but waived his right to contest extradition earlier in the month,” Muhannad said. “It was just a matter of us finding time to get there to pick him up.”

Conn is facing two counts of attempted murder and one count of robbery first degree for his involvement in a shooting and attempted robbery that took place in Selma on April 30.

During the April 30 altercation, authorities charged Conn with shooting two men who had been sitting in a car parked on Forrest Street, and attempting to steal a bag of marijuana.

Conn is being held at the Dallas County Jail on no bond. He is scheduled to have a bond hearing Thursday at 1:30 p.m.

Conn is also facing a charge of receiving stolen property third degree for a separate incident that occurred in 2012.
