Charles Franklin Lawley

Charles Franklin Lawley, 84, 0f Gautier, Mississippi, passed away Friday, August 1, 2014, in Pascagoula, Mississippi. He was born June 14, 1930, in Lawley (Selma), Alabama, and had been a resident of our area for many years.

Charles served his country in the U. S. Air Force, and was a long-time employee in outside sales for Sears. He was a Life Member of the Elks, holding membership for more than 65 years; an excited fan of both Alabama and East Central High School football; and was of the Baptist faith.

Charles is survived in his passing by his beloved wife of 64 years, Dorothy Nell Lawley of Gautier; his son, Larry F. Lawley of Gulf Shores, Alabama; his daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Ronnie Mayfield of Hurley, Mississippi; his sister and brother-in-law, Maurine and “Pat” Patrick of Hiram, Georgia; his grandson, Mike Mayfield of Hurley; and his great-granddaughter, Kendal Mayfield of Hurley; numerous other relatives and many friends.

Mr. Lawley’s family wishes to express thanks and gratitude to caregivers Wayne and Rita Myrick and Southern Care Hospice for the splendid care given to Charles in his final days.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 4, 2014, at Heritage Funeral Home, Escatawpa – Moss Point, Mississippi, with visitation from 10 – 11 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Don Edeker, officiating. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. at Pinecrest West Cemetery, 1599 Snow Road, Mobile, Alabama.
