Veterans are well deserving of second chance to earn diploma

When you consider how much veterans have sacrificed to give us the freedom to complete our education, creating a program that affords them the same opportunity only makes sense.
Several war heroes have sacrificed, early on in life, a chance to earn their high school diploma when they have left home to serve the country at a young age. But thanks to the Operation Recognition program, that opportunity has presented itself again.
Operation Recognition awards standard high school diplomas to honorably discharged veterans who had their education disrupted due to war. Over the years, 12 to 18 veterans have received their diploma from the program.
Veterans have sacrificed time with their family, risked their own lives and more to make sure our country protected. If anyone deserves a chance to further their education, it’s them.
We can only hope exsisitng programs that cater to vetarans will inspire the creation of other organizations willing to do the same.
We encourage eligible veterans to take advantage of this chance and apply by Dec. 31.
