Hope for just a little while

I watched this story unfold on Facebook from a friend, Laura Grossman.
It seems Laura found a stray kitten the other day and took it in. From her brief postings on FB, the kitten was weak and malnourished. It needed love. Laura gave the kitten love and much more. When Hope started having trouble breathing and was near death, she took the kitten to a local vet, who gave Hope much-needed nutrients and sustenance.
Hope came home to Laura, who poured love and care into the little creature.
Not all stories have happy endings. Hope died.
But here’s the sweetest thing — instead of dying on the street in the cold and hungry and without comfort, the kitten was cared for, warm and loved.
It makes a difference. Laura made a difference.
We could take a lesson from this and learn to care for one another in the same manner.
Next time you see Laura, give her a hug or at least a nod for her selflessness and for her gift.
