Local teams taking part in numerous holiday tournaments

Basketball teams in Dallas County will get back to work quickly following Christmas as holiday tournaments continue around the state.
Here’s a look at where each team will be playing this holiday season:
Selma High School
The Selma boys and girls teams will be playing at different locations over the next few days. The Selma boys will take part in the Stillman College Classic in Tuscaloosa Dec. 26-29, while the Selma girls will take part in the Dwight Madison Roundball Classic Dec. 26-29. Other teams in the boys’ tournament include Central Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa County, Holt, Akron, Francis Marion and Sumter Central. The boys will play Sumter Central in the first round at 6 p.m.
Selma will host Dallas County Jan. 2.
Keith High School
The Keith boys will also take part in the Stillman College Classic in Tuscaloosa Dec. 26-29. The Bears will take on Holt in the final game Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Keith will also take part in the Faulkner College Invitational Dec. 29-31. After the tournaments come to a close, Keith will play at Wilcox Central Jan. 3.
Southside High School
Southside’s boys will also be taking part in the Dwight Madison Roundball Classic Tournament at Carver High School Dec. 26-29. The Lady Panthers will take part in the Faulker College Invitational Dec. 29-31. Southside will resume non-tournament play Jan. 6 at Wilcox Central.
Dallas County High School
Dallas County will take part in Hoover High School’s Big Orange Classic Dec. 26-29. The Hornets will take on Fairfield Friday at 3 p.m. in the first round of the 16 team tournament. Other teams in the tournament field are Wenonah, McEarchen (Ga.), Huffman, Northridge, Shelby County, Leeds, Bessemer City, Creekview (Ga.), Spanish Fort, Woodlawn, Gardendale, Hoover, Davidson and Clay-Chalkville.
The Hornets will also play at A.L. Johnson Dec. 30 and at Selma Jan. 2.
Ellwood Christian Academy
Ellwood Christian will play at Wilcox Central Friday at 5 p.m. The Eagles will then take the next week off before hosting Autaugaville Jan. 5.
Morgan Academy
Morgan Academy’s boys and girls will play in the Glenwood Tournament Dec. 29-30. The Senators will also host their tournament Jan. 2-3.
Meadowview Christian
Meadowview Christian is off for the holidays. The Trojans will take on Cahawba Christian Academy Jan. 5 at 5 p.m.
