Keith 68, Leflore 62 (Boys)

John Pettway led Keith to a 68-62 overtime win over Leflore Monday in the MLK Classic at M.T. Blount High School.

Pettway and Jaequan Simmons combined to hit six free throws in overtime and the top-ranked Bears held on for the victory.

Pettway had 29 points and four assists and Simmons had 16 points and three steals. Kent James also had six points, nine rebounds and five blocks.

Meadowview 56, Victory 45 (Boys)

Meadowview Christian (10-4) defeated Victory-Baptist Tuesday 54-45 behind 17 points from JeVar McGuire.

Alaan Stockman added 12 points and Garrett Grantham had 10 for the Trojans.

 

Meadowview 38, Victory 17 (Girls)

Mallory Freine and Christina Dabit each scored 13 points Tuesday as Meadowview Christian blew out Victory-Baptist 38-17.

Shelby Boswell and Taylor Roberts each scored six for the Trojans.

 

Hooper 53, Morgan 44 (Boys)

Morgan Academy fell to Hooper Academy 53-44 Tuesday on the Senators’ senior night.

Jackson Henderson led the Senators (7-13) with 15 points.

The loss dropped Morgan to 0-4 in area play. Ty Bolton led Hooper Academy with 27 points.
