Dovie Ruth Worrell Horne

Dovie Ruth Worrell Horne died Jan. 26, 2015, in Tallassee Nursing Home in Tallassee. She was born Jul. 30, 1917, in Troy and moved to Selma in 1939 when she married.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas LaRue Horne Sr.; parents, Charlie Thomas Worrell and Annie Lee Wilson Worrell of Troy; three brothers, William Edgar Worrell, Hervey Lafayette Worrell and Charles Melvin Worrell; sister, Eunice Glenn Worrell Driver Thompson of Woodbury, N.J.; and two sons-in-law, Jack Owen Banning and Charles Ray Danielson.

She is survived by her children, Mary Ruth Horne Banning of Tustin, Calif.; Charlotte Ann Horne Danielson of Auburn and Nicholas LaRue Horne Jr. (Mary Fields Horne) of Lowndesboro; five grandsons; one granddaughter; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Levette P. Worrell of Milton, Fla.

Graveside services will be Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, at 2:30 p.m. in New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Nicholas L. Horne III, Brian Ray Danielson, Terry Hewitt, Richard Motes, Probate Judge Kim Ballard, Judge Johnny Jones, Ken Williamson and Michael Lee.
