Selma police are searching for a black man believed to be in his mid-20s and about 6-2, 210 pounds, who is a suspect in the robbery of the RBC Bank on Broad Street.
Police Detective Lt. Mike Harris said the man walked into the bank at 1:22 p.m. Monday and handed a teller a note threatening her life and demanding all the money in her cash drawer.
“The teller followed procedure and gave him the money from the cash drawer,” the detective said.
The man walked out of the bank after receiving the cash, but not before bank cameras caught a photo of him, said Harris.
Police said the suspect received an “undetermined amount of money.”
Eyewitnesses told police the suspect walked toward the Edmund Pettus Bridge and toward Water Avenue.
“We’ve had no more sightings on him,” Harris said.
Anybody with information on the case is asked to contact the Selma Police Department’s secret witness line at 874-2190 or Crimestoppers at 877-3530.
