Registration for CAP league ends Friday

With the Selma Parks and Recreation Department’s summer programs, there’s plenty to do for youth of all ages.
The final day for registration for the department‘s Cap League, which is T-ball for 4-years-old and older 3-year-olds, will take place Friday from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the old Softball Complex. The league will begin play Thursday, June 11 and the games will run until Tuesday, July 7.
Basketball courts will also be opened at the School of Discovery, R.B. Hudson and Selma High School for different age groups throughout the summer. The gyms are open Mondays-Thursdays through the month of July.
School of Discovery will be open to those age 6-13 from 12:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. R.B. Hudson will also be open from 12:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. for fifth graders through eighth graders. Selma High School will open the gym from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. for those 12-and-up.
Tennis lessons, taught by Bernard Sewell and Clarence Moore, are continuing at the city tennis courts.
The lessons continue throughout the months of June and July for ages 6-and-up on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Ages 6-12 will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., ages 13-17 will meet 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and ages 18 and up will meet from 7:30 until 8:30 p.m.
