Letter says best is yet to come in Selma

Dear editor,
I love this city. Homegrown in a city that is known worldwide. The greatest gift we could ever offer to the world is simply love.
Jazz on the Grazz was really enjoyable and a positive step in that direction — the sound of laughter as the children played on the water slides, jumped in the Selma Fire Department’s house of fun and rode on the train. There were great performances by local jazz artists, lots of food and really good, cold lemonade!
The only sadness of the day for me, personally, was that my high school class reunion was taking place in Wetumpka.
As a 1980 graduate of Selma High School, it saddens me that 35 years later we didn’t have enough to offer here in Selma, as a positive incentive for Selma’s own to come home. To each of my classmates, we’ll do better here in Selma to welcome you home.
Thank you, Councilwoman Angela Benjamin. You and your staff did an awesome job. I enjoyed my hot summer Saturday on Water Avenue.
Selma is on the rise. The best is yet to come! I love you Selma!
Cheryl Colvin
