For the third straight year, the Times-Journal is asking the community to pick which local athletes should grace the cover of its Gridiron magazine with a cover vote contest.
Football players and cheerleaders from all seven schools within Dallas County were matched up for the contest, which will take place on The Selma Times-Journal’s Facebook page. The vote will start at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 27 and run until July 31 at 5 p.m.
This year’s pairings are Meadowview Christian cheerleader Elizabeth McNeil and Southside football player Kentravius Moore; Dallas County cheerleader Hannah Testas and Ellwood Christian football player Rayford Mitchell; Southside cheerleader Aminah Drane and Keith football player Morris Collins; Morgan Academy cheerleader Owen Robertson and Dallas County football player Tommy Kendrick; Keith cheerleader Euneka Tower and Selma football player Aderick Moore; Selma cheerleader Nautica Davis and Meadowview Christian football player Tyler Sebren; and Ellwood Christian cheerleader Eyana Cowan and Morgan Academy football player Harrison Adams.
The voting process is simple again this year.
A photo gallery will be posted at 8 a.m. Monday morning and will remain on the Times-Journal’s Facebook page until 5 p.m. on Friday.
To “vote” for your favorite pairing, simply click the picture of the photo you’d like to vote for and then hit the “like” button underneath the photo.
The pairing with the most likes will win the contest and grace the cover of Gridiron, which is the Times-Journal’s annual high school football preview magazine.
Comments will not count as votes in the contest and neither will likes on the overall photo gallery.
