Meadowview Christian couldn’t keep up with Cullman Christian in the school’s first ever 6-man football game Friday night.

The Trojans fell to Cullman 80-6.

Cullman scored first only for Meadowview to answer with a 30-yard touchdown pass from Zack Duke to Javar McGuire to pull within 8-6.

Unfortunately for Meadowview, that was the end of the team’s scoring for the night.

“We had a lot of penalties that hurt us. We’ve got to stop making mental mistakes,” said Meadowview coach Scott Gunter. “We fumbled the ball a couple of times and they kicked an onside [kick] and got it. There was stuff I don’t think we were ready for. That team has been playing [6-man] for so long. The speed was the big difference.”

The Trojans went into the game hoping to control the clock and using their size advantage, but Gunter said Cullman’s speed difference was too much to overcome.

Meadowview (0-1) will play at Marion next week.
