Morgan Academy (5-7) defeated Hooper Academy 25-11, 25-20, 25-15 Monday. McKenzie Williams and Sarah Combs led the team in blocks and kills. Cassidy Lawrence also had an impressive outing for the Senators on Monday.

Morgan’s junior varsity won 25-19, 25-17 behind kills from Laney Holladay and Tindall Albritton and nine aces from Caroline Thomas.

The junior varsity team also played in the 2015 Junior High Rug Rat Tournament this past weekend. The Senators were seeded last, but came back to beat Southern, New Life Christian and Coosa Valley. Morgan eventually lost to Bessemer, but placed third in the tournament. Hannah Averitt was named to the All-Tournament team.

Morgan is back in action against Kingwood Thursday.
