Three-car accident sends car crashing through store window

The sidewalk at the intersection of Broad Street and Alabama Avenue was covered in shattered glass and radiator fluid Friday afternoon after a car crashed through a building.

According to someone who saw the three-vehicle accident happen, a red Dodge Ram traveling north on Broad Street ran the red light and collided with two vehicles, a silver Honda Accord and a maroon Honda Accord, around 4 p.m.

The silver Accord looked to have minor damage, but the maroon one veered off the road and crashed through a window on the Alabama Avenue side of Sweet Advantages’ new store location.

Each vehicle was occupied by one person, and according to investigators with the Selma Police Department, no one was injured. One person was said to be inside the ice cream shop working, but no injuries were reported.

People involved in the accident declined to comment on what happened.

The maroon Honda Accord had to be towed out of the window.

According to the Selma Police Department, the accident is still under investigation.
