To the historic city of Selma, thank you!

It has been a little over a month since Lannie’s Bar-B-Que has been named No. 1 in the state of Alabama. Since the Barbecue Battle, we have continued to serve visitors near and far as always. We as a family have been grateful for the loyalty and support of our customers.

As a small resturant, Lannie’s has spent over 70 years serving our community with our signature dishes. Not until the battle did we realize how much you enjoyed them. The barbecue battle has caused recognition near and far and without your support we are certain this honor wouldn’t be our reality. The newspaper articles, online shoutouts and magazine cover has fueled us with the boost we needed to continue working hard in providing quality meals for another 70 years. I wanted to thank you on behalf of myself and my family for your consistent votes and helping us get the secret out. We’re No.1  because of you!

Special thanks to Trea Newsome for encouraging thousands of votes on line and councilwoman Angela Benjamin and Mayor George Evans for supporting our community with the voting party at the city’s convention center and to all of you for all of your support, love and appreciation.

Remember, anybody can cook the meat, but hte secret is in the sauce!
