Roundup: Southside rolls by Wilcox Central

For the first time since 2001, Southside (2-0) defeated Wilcox Central on the road Friday night.
The Panthers defeated Wilcox 74-56 behind Kentavius Page’s 19 points. Southside dominated throughout, leading 43-16 at halftime and 59-32 after three quarters.
Charles Price added 15 points for Southside, DeQuan Johnson scored 12 and Lee Underwood had 10 points.
The Panthers will play their home opener Tuesday against Calhoun.
Wilcox Central 52, Southside 17 (Girls)
Wilcox Central defeated Southside 52-17 Friday night. No stats were provided for this game.
Meadowview Christian 78, Conecuh Springs 47 (Boys)
Jevar McGuire scored 24 points and added 11 rebounds as Meadowview Christian (1-1) defeated Conecuh Springs 78-47 on Friday night.
Justin McGuire also added 22 points, seven rebounds and four blocks for the Trojans. Meadowview’s Sam Dabit also had 16 points.
The Trojans will host Tabernacle Monday.
Meadowview Christian 58, Conecuh Springs 24 (Girls)
Christina Dabit scored 25 points and Mallory Freine added 19 points to help Meadowview Christian (2-0) to defeat Conecuh Springs 58-24.
Meadowview 28, Conecuh Springs 25 (JV)
Davis Vardaman scored 15 points and Jeremy Lee had 8 to help Meadowview Christian’s junior varsity team defeat Conecuh Springs 28-25 Friday evening.
Meadowview 23, Marion 9 (JV)
The Meadowview Christian junior varsity boys team defeated Marion Academy 23-9 Thursday.
Sixth grader Davis Vardaman scored 16 points and Jeremy Lee had 7 in the Trojans win.
