Man injured in drive-by shooting

A 28-year-old Selma man was shot early Friday morning while driving near Tipton Street and Atlee Avenue in Selmont.
According to Selma Police Chief John Brock, the man was riding through the area when several shots were fired at his vehicle.
“He was shot at several times, and he said one round hit the vehicle and one round hit him,” Brock said.
Brock said the man continued driving, attempting to make it to Vaughan Regional Medical Center.
“He ended up trying to drive himself to the hospital, and he stopped at Cheers Package store where the police were called and an ambulance was called in,” Brock said.
“He was transported to Vaughan [Regional Medical Center] Emergency Room.”
Brock said the shooting happened around 5 a.m., adding the victim’s current condition was unknown as of Friday afternoon.
No arrest has been made.
