A Marion woman died and another man was injured Saturday morning during a car accident in Perry County.

Shondria Renee Evans, 25, was killed when the 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass she was riding in left the roadway and overturned.

Evans, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, Cedrick Devon Bates, 31, also of Marion, was transported to Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma for treatment.

The crash occurred at 7:30 a.m. on Perry County 45, 10 miles south of Marion.

No further information is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
