Police recovered six guns that Cornett was trying to sell, according to Sgt. John Hatfield with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department.

“There have been several [thefts and burglaries], and we are trying to connect him to additional thefts and burglaries,” Hatfield said. “But, we also have several that we are looking at and we hope to be able to make some additional arrests.”

The thefts in Valley Grande have occurred periodically over the last several months, Hatfield said.

Among the items stolen in the home break-ins were guns, electronics and other items, Hatfield said.

The break-ins were not limited to one particular neighborhood or a particular time of day, Hatfield said.

He said he wants the community to know the police department is working to try to track down anyone else involved.

“We are working on it and we certainly anticipate additional arrests coming,” Hatfield said.
