During Monday’s meeting, the Dallas County Commission approved tax abatements for Aquila Recovery Products.
The company is moving into the old Castle Rock plant at the South Industrial Park. The business closed in 2014.
The new company will collect waste oil across the region and process and sell it.
Selma and Dallas County Economic Development Authority Wayne Vardaman told the commission that Aquila will employ 17 workers initially and that number will later rise to 22.
The commission agreed to abate property for 10 years based on a $1.5 million capital investment as well as all sales tax except those collected for education for 10 years.
