David Lee Massey

David Lee Massey, 52, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on Jan. 25, 2016. He was born on July 18, 1963. David was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving multiple tours overseas and being awarded a number of accolades including Colonial rank, a Purple Heart, and Bronze Star Medal. In addition to his service to our country, which was his foremost passion, he enjoyed history, Alabama Football, boating and motorcycles.

David leaves behind to cherish his wife and companion of more than six years, Teresa Massey; father James C. Massey (Emma); mother, Ruth Massey; daughter, Marissa Massey; sons, Michael Massey and Clinton Cooke (Amy); brother, James M. Massey; sisters, Jessica Adams (Dennis) and Teresa Woods (David). He is also survived by two dogs, Popeye and Lola.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday Jan. 28 at Clingan Ridge Baptist Church, located at 2412 Georgetown RD NW, Cleveland, TN 3711. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will be held at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors on Friday, Jan. 29 at 11:30 a.m.
