Earl Dean Carswell

Earl Dean Carswell passed away Feb. 7, 2016. He was born Dec. 4, 1933.
His calling to be a preacher was found at the age of 17 and he did so for 65 years until he passed away suddenly on Sunday evening. He will be greatly missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Essie V. Carswell; father, Royal Espy Carswell; brothers, James Carswell, Carl Carswell and Ronald Carswell; sister, Janett Rossen; son, John Carswell; grandsons, Steven, Jonathan and Jeremy Carswell; granddaughter, Rebeka Carswell.
Earl is survived by his wife, Lois Yvonne Carswell; brothers, Ralph (Frances) Carswell and Roy (Sandra) Carswell; sisters, Nita (Arthur) Osburn and Dorthy (Jiggs) Bowden; children, Robert (Cathy) Carswell, Mike (Evelyn) Carswell, Bruce (Janice) Carswell, Earldean Kimbril, Terry (Mary) Carswell, Tim (Renee) Carswell and James (Brenda) Carswell; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb. 11 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home. Interment will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Earl’s grandsons.
