Thanks to everyone who helped organize Pilgrimage

Another Pilgrimage has come and gone. Though the weather wouldn’t cooperate at times, this weekend’s 41st Historic Selma Pilgrimage was a success — just ask any of the people who toured the city’s homes, churches and museums.
The Pilgrimage is a lot of work every year to put on. Organizers deserve a big pat on the back for their dedication and desire to share Selma’s history with the guests.
We wouldn’t begin to start listing people, but thanks to anyone who helps plan and put on this event for everything you do.
The homeowners should also be noted. Without their generosity and willingness to open their homes to strangers, the Pilgrimage probably couldn’t take place.
The hostesses add much to the weekend too. Many of these young women spend their spring break weekends to help welcome people to Selma and share what they have learned about each building’s past.
Other organizations plan events to participate in the weekend.
The ArtsRevive juried show “Roots and Wings” and the Selma Art Guid’s annual Wet Paint Sale were both nice additional attractions for those visiting for the weekend.
