ORRVILLE — It’ll be a special Friday afternoon at Keith High School.

The school will hold a celebration for Keith seniors and basketball stars John Pettway, Harriet Winchester and Zykia Pettway Friday afternoon. All three players have signed to play college basketball after outstanding high school careers.

John is heading to South Alabama, Zykia is going to Stillman and Winchester will play for Troy. John and Zykia actually signed letters of intent Wednesday, but haven’t had a chance to get recognized in front of friends and family for their achievement. Winchester, who actually signed with Troy in the fall, will also get a chance to be recognized.

All three had tremendous careers.

Winchester was named 1A Girls Player of the Year by the Alabama Sports Writers Association last week. John was a finalist for 1A Boys Player of the Year. Both players made the ASWA’s all-state first-team in 1A.
