We wrote at the beginning of April that this was one of Selma’s best months because to all the community oriented events on the calendar. Well, unfortunately April is almost over, but there’s still plenty of fun to go around.
On Saturday, the Blackbelt Benefit Group will host the fifth annual Rock n’ Ribs event at Lions Fair Park.
The event has become one many in Selma look forward to each year and proceeds always support a good cause.
The Blackbelt Benefit group continues to bring family friendly events to Selma, but the nonprofit is also looking toward our city’s future. Proceeds from the event will benefit Grow Selma and the Mill Village Community Garden and Food Park.
Gates open to the public at 1 p.m. A $10 admission fee includes all you can eat ribs and hors d’oeuvres.
This year the event will be even bigger too, as a wings competition will also take place. Prices will be awarded to winners in the best ribs, best wings, and people’s choice categories.
We’re looking forward to the event and hope to see a big crowd. Rock n’ Ribs is a chance to make new friends what should be tremendous spring weather in Selma. Plus, ticket prices are affordable and just about everybody loves ribs and wings.
