Local law enforcement have made arrests in recent burglary, theft and counterfeit money cases.

Tyneshia Hartley, 29, of Selma, was arrested after turning herself in at police headquarters Monday. Hartley was wanted for trying to use fake $100 bills that read, “for motion picture use only” at local businesses.

She was charged with one count of criminal possession of a forged instrument with a $15,000 bond.

Authorities said the investigation is still ongoing and more charges are expected.

Jamarro Bolden, 34, of Selma, was arrested in connection to a string of burglaries earlier this month. Bolden was taken into custody from an apartment on the 100 block of Nannie Drive without incident, according to investigators.

Lt. Sam Miller said Bolden was wanted in connection to burglaries of Mr. Roy’s on Dallas Ave., Calhoun Foods on J.L. Chestnut Boulevard and the robbery and theft of Three Star on U.S. Highway 80 East.

“[Investigators] did a very excellent job rounding him up and putting him in jail,” Police Chief John Brock said. “He hit several businesses in town.”

Bolden was charged on count of robbery and three counts of burglary with no bond.

Brock said both investigations were assisted from video surveillance from the businesses, but from community tips more importantly.

“We rely on a lot of information from the general public,” Brock said. “We appreciate the public coming in and giving us tips on different crimes.”

District Attorney Michael Jackson said Hartley and Bolden will appear in court later this week.
