A former Selma dance school owner went missing off Georgia’s coast over the weekend.

Laura Faile Hutchins, 61, and her husband, 59-year-old Raymond Hutchins, went missing while on a boating trip on Sunday off the coast of Georgia. Laura used to own Laura’s School of Dance on Citizens Parkway in Selma in the late 1980s or early 1990s.

On Tuesday, Raymond’s body was recovered.

Sgt. Mark Carson of the Georgia National Resource Law Enforcement Division said the cause of death is still being determined, but investigators speculate drowning.

“There are no visible signs of anything else,” Carson said.

Carson said the couple called their son and informed him they were stuck on a sandbar at St. Andrew’s Sound and would return home a little later.  The son reported the couple missing Monday morning when the couple failed to return home and failed to make contact with the son.

The Hutchins’ pontoon boat was later found on Monday on the Little Satilla River. No damage was found on the boat.

According to news4jax.com, the boat was found running with the couple’s dog still onboard. Carson said recent storms have hindered the search, but they continue to look for Laura.

“It just got to a point where it was too dangerous for us to be out there,” Carson said. “We are continuing to look now.”

Camden County Sheriff’s Department and the U.S. Coast Guard have aided in the search.
