Mrs. Bettye Ralston Rutledge went to heaven June 18, 2016, at Hadlow Hospice Center in Jacksonville, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, James Calhoun (Jim) Rutledge; daughter, Beverly Jean Rutledge; and sisters, Faye Ralston McLendon and Alice Ralston Carter.

She is survived by her daughters, Ann Denise Rutledge and Bettye Lynn “Bett” Rutledge; grandson, Alex Rutledge Boone; sisters, Anne Ralston Linch Poindexter, Jeanette Ralston Ham and Marlene Ralston (Jerry) Little; brothers, Elton Robert (Claire) Ralston and Edward (Sybil) Ralston; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 23 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Selma. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the church with Dr. Jerry Light officiating. Interment will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Little, Andy Linch, Frank Linch, James “Randy” Mobley, Kenny Ross and Russell Ralston. Honorary pallbearers will be Brooks Carter, Mike Little, Jack Friday, Sage Ralston, Ward Ralston, David Lewis Linch and Charles Ralston.
