A Selma man was arrested after shooting another man in the leg.
Chico Madison, 33, was arrested at the Selma Police Department and charged with third-degree criminal mischief, first-degree burglary and first-degree assault.
He has also been charged with harassment and placed on parole officer hold. Madison was given bonds totaling $301,000 and is at the Dallas County Jail.
SPD’s Lt. Sam Miller said Madison was arrested after shooting a 33-year-old male in the leg on Monday.
Investigators said the victim was at his mother’s house on the 2100 block of L. L. Anderson visiting family around 8 p.m. when Madison broke into the residence armed and shot the victim.
Authorities said the shooting was a result of a domestic dispute.
The victim was then transported to Vaughan Regional Medical Center by private vehicle where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
