Mistakes pile up for Senators in blowout loss

Little went right Friday night for Morgan Academy in a lopsided 61-15 loss to No. 3 Monroe Academy.
Gunnar Henderson ran for a touchdown and threw for another, but that was where the highlights ended for the Senators (2-2).
“We put the ball on the ground a lot,” said Morgan coach Josh Thacker. “We put the ball on the ground on their side of the field. We had a muffed punt snap. They had a punt return touchdown, they had a fumble return for a touchdown. We shot ourselves in the foot too many times against a good football team.”
Henderson threw for 75 yards and a touchdown to Sam Plummer. Brayton Brown had 36 yards rushing to lead the Senators.
Monroe compiled 408 total yards in the game. Morgan had 324.
The Senators will play their fourth road game in five weeks at Hooper Academy next week.
