Dorothy Virginia Fluker

Dorothy Virginia Fluker, age 94, formerly of Selma, died Sept. 10, 2016, at Green Acres Health and Rehab in Milledgeville, Georgia. She resided there for 15 years.

She was active in many programs, such as the Granny Program, visiting and reading to Kindergarten students, teaching both Bible study and Sunday school, giving the morning devotional over the intercom and serving on as many resident councils, just to name a few.

She was a member of the New Covenant Presbyterian Church, formerly Crescent Hill Presbyterian Church in Selma.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Dr. Cecil Williamson officiating. Interment will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Coleman Fluker; infant daughter, Dorothy Ann Fluker; and son, Ray Otis Fluker.

She is survived by her son, Lee Coleman (Shelba) Fluker, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
