Man killed, two others injured in three shootings Saturday

A man was killed and two others were injured in three separate shootings around Selma on Saturday morning.
A 33-year-old black male was shot and killed during an exchange of gunfire on the 1200 block of Alabama Avenue. Ronald Johnson, 27, was arrested Saturday in connection to the murder. He was transported to the Dallas County Jail and given no bond.
The identity of the victim is being withheld while next of kin of notified.
“We followed up leads and conducted interviews and based on statements made, we were able to confer with the district attorney’s office and get a recommendation for a murder charge with no bond,” said Lt. Sam Miller with the Selma Police Department.
Another shooting occurred near a grocery store on Weaver Street. A 21-year old female was shot and admitted to Vaughan Regional Medical Center for treatment. Miller said her injuries are not considered life threatening.
A third shooting occurred near Franklin and Green Street. A 55-year old male suffered a gunshot wound to the body and was transported to Vaughan Regional Medical Center before being airlifted to DCH hospital in Tuscaloosa. Miller did not have an update on his condition.
Miller said the shootings happened between midnight and 3 a.m. He said police do not believe they are related.
