Morgan Academy (4-2) rolled up 266 yards rushing and returned a blocked punt for a touchdown as the Senators rolled over Glenwood 34-6 Friday night.
Sam Brackin had 156 rushing yards and a touchdown to lead the Senators’ offensive attack. Caleb Pitts blocked a punt and Gunnar Henderson returned it for a touchdown to give the Senators a spark.
The loss was Glenwood’s (4-1) first of the season.
“When you score in two out of three phases of the game you have a great chance to win,” said Morgan coach Josh Thacker. “Coach Shawn Bonds had an amazing defensive game plan set up and our guys executed real well.”
Everything was clicking for the Senators on Friday.
Brayton Brown had 12 carries for 74 yards for the Senators and Henderson added a rushing touchdown to his special teams score.
Morgan also scored through the air as Brown caught a 60-yard touchdown pass from Henderson.
Ed Williams had six tackles and two interceptions to lead the way for Morgan’s defense. Peyton Egbert also had an interception for the Senators. Pitts added five tackles and Chase Utsey had four tackles. The Senators will play only their second home game of the season next week against Clarke Prep.
