Local playoff teams should be proud

Keith, Dallas County and Southside have all qualified for the Alabama High School Athletic Association playoffs and all three schools will take part in playoff games Friday night.
The players and coaches on all three teams should be proud. Making the playoffs is not an easy task and takes a lot of heart, dedication and work.
It’s been a long time since every high school in the Dallas County School System made the playoffs. According to the Alabama High School Football History website, a nonprofit organization that serves as an unofficial database for football records, lists the last time Southside-Selma, Dallas County and Keith all made the playoffs in the same year as 1989.
Regardless of what happens from here on out, all three have already accomplished an impressive feat. We encourage fans and students from all three schools to make the trip for the playoff games this week.
The teams, bands and cheerleaders all need and deserve support.
Keith will play at New Brockton, Dallas County is at Beauregard and Southside is at Montevallo. All three games are scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m.
