Dallas County knew it would have to play some of its best football down the stretch in order to make the playoffs this year and the Hornets have done just that.

Dallas County won its last four games to end the regular season and not only made the playoffs, but clinched the No. 3 seed in class 5A, area 3 and will play Beauregard Friday night at 7 p.m.

Both the offense and defense have started to click.

Dallas County (6-4) didn’t allow more than 20 points in any game during its four game win streak. The Hornets’ offense has also come alive, scoring over 40 points three times in the last four weeks.

The problem for Dallas County is that the Hornets on the other sideline Friday night are pretty good too.

The Beauregard Hornets (9-1) are ranked No. 3 in class 5A and have scored 49 or more points in a game seven times this season. Beauregard’s only loss came on the road at Central Clay County, another playoff team in class 5A.

Beauregard has not lost a home game since 2012. The Hornets went 3-2 on the road this season.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday.
