After taking a year off, the annual West Dallas Antique Tractor, Car, Gas Engine and Craft Show is making its way back to Orrville.

The 14th annual tractor show will be held Nov. 12 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Old Orrville High School site.

“It’s a fun filled family day,” said Karen Grimes, an organizer of the show. “It’s small enough that you can see everything in one day, yet enjoy it.”

The tractor show is a fundraiser for the Orrville Volunteer Fire Department, who works to put on the event.

“It’s just something they wanted to do to give back to our community, and it’s a great way for our community and surrounding area to get to know our firefighters,” Grimes said. “It’s just good to work with these volunteers and these volunteers are excited. They’re just a good group of people to work with, and we can’t wait.”

Grimes said the event is important for the department to raise funds to use throughout the year.

“This is just a nice advantage for our fire department, and it gives them a little extra money where they don’t have to worry about it throughout the year,” Grimes said. “It just kind of resupplies their petty cash money that we need to keep operating throughout the year.”

Grimes said the show will feature a variety of things, including cars, tractors, arts and crafts, baked goods, a petting zoo and more.

“It’s a nice little event to come to. Bring a big appetite and plan to eat while you’re there because we have some great food vendors,” Grimes said. “The tractors, of course, you don’t want to miss them. And right behind the tractors is a great display of hit and miss engines, and if you don’t know what these are, you really ought to take time to go back there and see them.”

Grimes said the event is fun for everyone, and it’s a great opportunity to see friends.

“It’s wonderful. As small as we are in Orrville, you’d think we see each other every day, but sometimes, this is our only chance to really see each other and really get to know one another and just visit with other communities in the area,” Grimes said.

“I enjoy the whole day, it just goes by too fast. If I could slow the day down and enjoy it a little longer it would be great.”
