Online vote ongoing to determine Hoopla cover

High school basketball season has arrived and The Selma Times-Journal is in the midst of finishing the 2016 Hoopla Magazine, the newspaper’s annual high school basketball preview publication.
Like in previous years, the newspaper is holding a Facebook vote to determine which athletes will be on the cover of this year’s Hoopla.
A boys basketball player and a girls basketball player will be featured on the cover.
Each boys player was paired with a girls player from another school, so that two schools will once again be represented on the cover.
Here are the pairings for this year’s contest (shown in the column of this page) — Dallas County’s Tyneshia Jones and Meadowview Christian’s Garrett Grantham; Ellwood Christian’s Christina Martin and Dallas County’s Floyd Crusoe; Keith’s Shatavia Moore and Selma’s Jeff Huff; Meadowview Christian’s Mallory Freine and Southside’s Mark Wallace; Selma’s Jamya Smith and Ellwood Christian’s Justin Bufford; Morgan Academy’s Regan Hewitt and Keith’s Justyn Pettway, and Southside’s Ki’Onah Page and Morgan Academy’s Caleb Pitts;.
The contest started at 8 a.m. on Monday and ends on Friday at 5 p.m. The cover option with the most votes will win the contest and grace the cover of Hoopla.
To vote, simply “like” or react to the cover choice you want to vote for. Any “likes” or reactions on the overall photo gallery will not count as votes. Comments will also not count as votes.
