Score Roundup: Selma boys suffer first loss of season

Carver 81, Selma 48 (Boys)
Selma (2-1) lost for the first time Friday night at Carver-Montgomery 81-48. Christopher Carter scored 11 points and had five steals for the Saints. Jeff Huff added another 10 points.
Selma 54, Carver 49 (Girls)
Jacquetta Dailey scored 19 points to lead Selma (3-0) to a 54-49 victory over Carver-Montgomery. Areyana Williams also added 14 points for the Saints in the win.
R.C. Hatch 70, Southside 33 (Boys)

R.C. Hatch 53, Southside 41 (Girls)
Kylan Brown scored 14 points to lead Southside (0-2), but the Panthers fell to R.C. Hatch on the road Friday night.
Sharita Benjamin added another 10 points and Christina Watts scored 9 for the Panthers.
Meadowview Christian 71, Conecuh Springs 55
Justin McGuire filled up the statsheet Friday night as Meadowview Christian (1-2) picked up its first win of the year.
McGuire had 24 points, 10 rebounds, five steals and four blocks as the Trojans knocked off Conecuh Springs 71-55.
Sam Dabit knocked in another 17 points and Jeremy Lee had 16. The Trojans play at Marion on Nov. 28.
Meadowview Christian 36, Conecuh Springs 26 (Girls)
Mallory Freine scored 12 points and Hannah Thornton scored nine as Meadowview (2-0) won a low scoring game against Conecuh Springs.
Lee-Scott 51, Morgan Academy 36 (Boys)
Morgan Academy was down big at the half Thursday night against Lee-Scott, but rallied to make things interesting in the second half. In the end, Lee-Scott’s lead was too much to overcome in what turned into a 51-36 loss for the Senators.
Ed Williams scored 11 points and Sawyer Hopkins had 10 points and six rebounds for Morgan. The Senators will play the Morgan Invitational Tournament Monday and Tuesday. Morgan will play Southern Academy on Monday.
Wallace 76, Southern Union 74 (Men’s bball)
The Wallace Community College Selma men’s basketball team defeated Southern Union 76-74 on Thursday night.
The Patriots will host Concordia on Saturday. The women’s game starts at 4 p.m. and the men’s game is at 6 p.m.
Borh Wallace teams lost to Concordia earlier this year. The Wallace men have yet to lose a game to a junior college opponent.
