Selma boys beat DC, girls win Thanksgiving tournament

Selma defeated Dallas County 54-52 Saturday in the final game of Selma High School’s Thanksgiving Tournament.
Jeffery Huff and Ivan Williams had 16 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Saints (4-1). Both players made the all-tournament team, as did Tommie Moore, who had 10 rebounds and blocked four shots.
Jerryone Patterson also had 13 points for the Saints.
Quincy Parker led Dallas County (1-2) with 14 points and Josh Benford and Andre Hall had 10 apiece.
Hall and Benford were also named to the all-tournament team.
Selma will play at Demopolis on Tuesday.
Selma 54, Greensboro 49 (Girls)
Jamya Smith had 26 points to lead Selma to a 54-49 win over Greensboro Saturday in the Selma High School Thanksgiving Tournament championship game.
Smith had four 3-pointers in all and scored 52 points in the tournament.
Aaliyah Hatcher also chipped in 11 points for the Saints in Saturday’s win.
Smith, Kynadra Lewis and Areyana Williams were named to the all-tournament team for Selma (6-0).
The Saints led 15-2 after the first quarter, but found themselves tied at halftime after Williams got injured and Jacquetta Dailey got into foul trouble.
