On today’s sports page, you’ll find a story about an upcoming basketball game between the Selma Police Department and Selma Fire Department.
The two sides are coming together for their annual basketball game, which will raise donations and toys for their annual holiday toy drive. The toys will be given out to children at the Selma PAL Center’s Christmas party next week.
We’ve written a lot about both departments this year and do our best to credit them for the work they do in protecting Selma’s streets and for getting out in the community.
This is just another example of the effort both departments make in Selma.
For anyone that can’t make the game, which will be held Dec. 20 at 5 p.m. at Meadowview Christian School, there are several places to drop off a toy or financial donation.
Toys can be dropped off at the Selma Police Department and the Selma Fire Departments, PAL Center and Main Street Urgent Care.
Going to the game or making a donation will help area children have a great Christmas.
