Offices to close for Christmas holiday

Christmas is almost here, and city and county offices along with businesses will be closed for the holiday.
Selma City Hall will be closed Friday, Dec. 23 through Monday, Dec. 26. City Hall will reopen Tuesday at 8 a.m.
The Dallas County Courthouse will be closed Friday, Dec. 23 through Monday, Dec. 26. It will reopen Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
The. U.S. Post Office on Alabama Avenue will close Saturday at noon and will be closed Sunday and Monday for Christmas. The post office will reopen at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27 for business.
The Selma Public Works Department will be closed Friday, Dec. 23 through Monday, Dec. 26 for Christmas. No trash will be picked up for those days. Normal trash pickup will resume Tuesday with the regular schedule.
Trash trailers will be placed at different locations around the city for extra holiday trash from Thursday, Dec. 22 through Tuesday, Dec. 27 at 7 a.m. The trailers will be located at old Winn-Dixie, Highland Avenue in the old Wal-Mart parking lot, Cedar Park School on Woodrow Avenue in the field, an empty lot on Plant Street and Philpot Avenue and an empty lot on the corner of Division Street and Annie Cooper Avenue.
Prohibited items are appliances, electronic devices, household garbage and tires.
There are no changes to Sea Coast’s garbage pickup. Garbage will be picked up as regularly scheduled.
The Selma Police Department and the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department will be closed Friday through Monday. The front desk will be open at the Selma Police Department during normal hours. They will both reopen Tuesday at 8 a.m.
The Selma Dallas County Public Library will be closed Saturday, Dec. 24 through Monday, Dec. 27 and will reopen Tuesday at 9 a.m. The Washington Street book drop cam be used to return books and other items while the library is closed.
