The annual Deal Days fundraiser, which is put on by area car dealers, raised $4,620 was raised. The amount raised was a 16 percent increase over last year, according to local United Way executive director Jeff Cothran.
Over the last four years, dealers have contributed about $20,000 to the local United Way. This year Moore Stewart Ford, Moore Stewart Honda, Reliable Cadillac GMC, Turner Motors and Steve Lane Auto Sales participated in the fundraiser.
The United Way of Selma and Dallas County partners with 15 agencies, including the American Red Cross, the YMCA of Selma-Dallas County, SABRA Sanctuary, the Salvation Army and the BOSCO Nutrition Center. When someone gives to the United Way, they are also contributing to the organizations the United Way supports.
We appreciate that area car dealers gave back again this year. We’re sure the money will be put to good use in organizations all around Selma.
