Investigators with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department continue to follow leads in the shooting death of Brenda Craig.

Craig, 48, died Dec. 29, at Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery because of gunshot wounds to one of her feet and her buttocks.

Sheriff’s investigator Sgt. John Hatfield said Friday the department had yet to make any arrests, but continued to investigate the case.

The shooting occurred in the 700 block of Circle Drive on the evening of Dec. 28.

Authorities said they believe the weapon is a high-powered rifle.

This is the first murder investigation in the county since 2007.
