Meadowview baseball goes unbeaten in region

Meadowview Christian dominated region B in the Alabama Christian Athletic Association, but even that may be an understatement. The Trojans rolled past New Life Christian 11-1 in baseball Thursday to finish off a 10-0 year in region play. Meadowview outscored region opponents 92-14 this year.
On Thursday, Garrett Brech pitched the entire game, allowing seven hits.
Chambers McGilberry, Jeremy Lee, Mason Kendrick and Chemar McGuire each had two hits apiece and finished with eight of Meadowview’s nine hits in the game.
Meadowview had almost nothing to play for on Thursday, outside of a perfect record in region play. The Trojans were already guaranteed a spot into the ACAA semifinals, but Meadowview still played aggressive and inspired baseball.
“They expect to win now. They don’t come out hoping to win, they expect to win,” said Meadowview coach Lebo Jones.
“They come out here on their own and do a lot of things that I’ve never seen them do before. They get out here and go around to different stages, batting drills on their own. Now they get out here and they go around to different stages and batting drills on their own. In the past, you had to make them get out here and make them do things. Now they want to get out here and play and practice hard so it’s been a big turnaround.”
Meadowview will play at Tuscaloosa Christian on Monday and at Tabernacle Christian on Thursday.
