Sunday, The Selma Times-Journal held a photo benefit for the Humane Society of Central Alabama.

Nearly $200 was raised in the first time event, which means that even more animals will now have the opportunity to have a better life with a new or first-time family.

We want to say thank you to those that came out Sunday to participate and donated your time and money for the benefit of the animals.

The Humane Society helps with a number of organizations and entities, like the Adoptable Dogs Program at the Selma Animal Shelter, Selma’s Purrrfect Pals, and their own low income spay/neuter program.

It’s great to know that we had a hand in helping out the animals, and that people in the community care about the cause.

Thank you again for helping us help dogs and cats in Selma.
