Many people know about the adult program of Leadership Selma-Dallas County, but some are unaware that more than 25 youth representing all seven of our county high schools participate in the youth program this year.
For the past 20 years, there has been a youth version of the leadership program. Participants are juniors and seniors in high school who want to learn more about their county and community, develop leadership and core skills needed for success.
This year, 26 students completed the program and had a great time doing it. When asked what they valued most about the program, one participant stated that “this was an amazing experience; I’ve learned skills that will help prepare me to lead in my school, community, state and the nation. All of the classes were very informative and interesting. I recommend this program to everyone interested in knowledge and a better understanding of the real world.”
The program is sponsored by Leadership Selma-Dallas County and is open to rising juniors and seniors.
A special “Thank You” to all of the sponsors and volunteers that allow us to come into their places of work/business and who shared with the class members.
